White Sox versus Reds

The Reds arent playing as good as they were in the beginning of the month. I guess it went to their head or something. They lost three out of four to the Cubs and then two out of three to the Brews. They Reds have lost five out their last six games. They are now two and a half games behind the Cardinals in the Central.

Tonite the Reds are putting Claussen his 5.28 era and his 3-7 record up against Garcia of the Sox. Lets see if the Sox can inch close in on the Tigers a bit more.

Re: White Sox versus Reds

The Sox win another game making it four out of their last five. The score of the victory over the Reds was 12-4. Garcia of the White Sox went eight innings on 108 pitches giving up seven hits and four runs. Claussen of the Reds got smashed for nine runs on eight hits. The Reds bullpen of Mays, Yan, and White gave up another three runs on eight hits. This was a total slugfest for the Chicago White Sox.

After all this the Reds now have to face Contreras. Contreras is pitching extraordinarily well. His era is way down to 2.62 and he is coming off a great start versus the Rangers. I don't see the Reds winning this one.

Re: White Sox versus Reds

The Sox won their third game in a row last night beating the Reds 8-6. They just can't seem to catch the Tigers though, thanks to the Cubs. In this one the game was tied in the ninth and the Sox scored three in that inning to win the game. Contreras went six innings giving up five runs. The bullpen did well and even though Jenks gave up a run in the ninth, he still got his twentieth save.

Tonite its Garland and his 6.01 era verses Harang who is 7-4 with a 3.91 era.
