Sox versus Rangers

Today for the Sox, Contreras with his 2.54 era and undefeated record is on the mound. He is going up against Koronka for the Rangers who is 4-3 with a 4.69 era. The Rangers are 34-29, still in first place and are just coming off of a five game set with the BoSox. They split 2-2 and one game didn't get played. I'd say that's pretty impressive and that the Sox have their work cut out for them today.

Re: Sox versus Rangers

The Sox have won two in a row against the Rangers. In the first game, Contreras went eight innings striking out eleven and only giving up three runs. That guy must be on something because his numbers are just incredible. He is so consistent. But I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he is hella talented. The Sox won 8-3 in this one.

As for the second game, Garland went five giving up two runs. The Sox bullpen of Cotts and McCarthy set it up for Jenks and his nineteenth save. Sox win 5-2.

Today the Sox put Vazquez up against Padilla. Vazquez has a decent record but his era is a kind of high 4.19. Out of his twelve starts, Vazquez is 7-3. Padilla has a 5.15 era and a 5-4 record in thirteen starts.

Re: Sox versus Rangers

In the third game of this exciting four game series with the Rangers, the Sox lost 8-0. Padilla for the Rangers pitched masterfully, only giving up three hits and three walks. Vazquez for the Sox pitched six innings giving up six runs. This is the second time that the Sox got shut out.

Buehrle is on the mound tonite verses Rheinecker. Rheinecker only has four starts but did very well against the Sox on June 4th. In that game he went eight innings giving up two runs. Buehrel is coming off of an eight inning no decision versus the Indians.

Re: Sox versus Rangers

The Sox took on the Rangers yesterday and beat them by a score of 8-2. A picture perfect game for the Sox. Buehrle went eight innings giving up only two runs and lowering his era to 3.13. Rheinecker got rocked for five runs in four innings. The Ranger bullpen didn't stand up against the Sox either and gave up three more.

Tonite the Sox finish up their road trip by starting a three game series against the Cincinatti Reds.
