Sox vs. Indians

Up next for the World Champion White Sox is the Cleveland Indians at home. The Sox recently lost three out of four games to the Tribe in Cleveland. Lets see if they can get some revenge in this three game series in Chicago.

Pitching for the Sox is Vazquez who has a 7-3 record with a 4.14 era. Lee is on the mound for the tribe who has a 5.17 era and a 4-5 record. Since their last meeting, The Indians lost two out of three to the Angels and two out of three to the A's. They are in third place in the Central, eight and a half games out of first. This is a big series for Cleveland.

Re: Sox vs. Indians

A big series indeed. Cleveland, like last year, is falling behind early. They're 8.5 out of first and six games behind the ChiSox going into tonight's game, but the Tribe can turn that around in a hurry with a sweep. That prospect is unlikely, but would certainly be sweet if it happens!

Re: Sox vs. Indians

The Sox take the first game of the series against Cleveland by a score of 5-4 improving their record to 37-23. Vazquez gave up three runs in just about six innings and struck out nine. Jenks scored his 18th save by getting three outs in the ninth. Lee of the Indians was relieved in the eighth inning and Betancourt blew the save by giving up a single to Dye who also homered in the sixth.

Today for the Sox is their ace pitcher ( i still have to look at how to spell his name ) Buehrle. He has a well below avg era of 3.31 and is 6-4 in twelve starts. Sabathia for the Indians is coming off of a shelling versus the Angels. This should be interesting.

Re: Sox vs. Indians

Buehrle pitched eight solid innings giving up six hits and only two runs to the Indians. Jenks would have closed the door but the score was tied. The Sox bullpen held up only giving up one run in the three innings after Buehrle. The Sox finally won after being down by a run in the eleventh by scoring two off of Wickman. The Sox can manufacture runs better than anyone in the league.

The pitchers tonite are Garcia for the good guys and Westbrook for the Indians. Garcia has a 4.56 era and Westbrook has a 5.04 era in twelve starts with a 5-3 record. Both teams bullpens are kind of depleted this will be interesting.

Re: Sox vs. Indians

I would have to go with the Chicago White Sox for this game. I think the White Sox have the better team here, even though the always dangerous Travis Hafner is opposing them. You also have to take into consideration that Joe Crede will likely make an appearance in tonight's game even though he is struggling with a minor injury. If Crede is in, I think the White Sox will win!

Finally, the Tribe was able to put together some offense last night. And yet, they still almost blew the game by surrendering a 6-run ninth inning!

Re: Sox vs. Indians

Its almost as if the Sox just sit around and wait for the eighth inning to get up off their butts and score runs. And then its like they do it at will. Garcia for the Sox gave up a whopping eight earned runs on nine hits and three walks. After eight masterful innings, Westbrook of the Indians was given a scare when Davis gave up five runs to the Sox.

Tonite the Sox start a series against the Rangers.
