Re: White Sox - Tigers AL Central race No kidding. Detroit hasn't finished a season over .500 since 1993, when Sparky Anderson was still their skipper. Now all of a sudden they're playing .649 ball? Unreal. Jimmy Leyland has done a phenomenal job whipping this club into shape. That tirade he had when they lost a few in a row really set the bar for the Tigers. It showed them that losing was no longer acceptable, which I think it had become under Trammel. I love the job he's done with them.

Re: White Sox - Tigers AL Central race The Tigers aren't a fluke team. The publications predicted that the Tigers would be the dark horse team in that division. But from the looks of it the White Sox have a relatively easy road to the playoffs. Doesn't look like Cleveland has what it takes to compete this year and you guys are right the Tigers will make a run but not ready to take it from the Sox.

Re: White Sox - Tigers AL Central race The Sox were suppose to be even better this year with Thome. Thome has made a big impact for the White Sox but he has been very cold lately with a .000 batting-average in his last 10 ABs. It has been quite a long time since the words, "Tigers" and "Playoffs" have been in the same sentence.
