The White Sox started off the Winter Meetings with a minor trade today as they picked up corner outfielder Carlos Quentin from the Arizona Diamondbacks for Class A first baseman Chris Carter.
Quentin, 25, is 6-2, 220 pounds, and he throws and bats right-handed. He hit .214 in 229 at-bats last season, striking out 54 times In two seasons in Arizona, Quentin hit .230

I like this trade for the Sox. Quenton was on fire when he was first called up in 2006, but has slumped lately. I think he is a really good bat that could not get playing time in Arizona.
