MLB.com reports reliever Scott Linebrink has agreed to a deal with the Chicago White Sox. The report cites ESPN 1000 in Chicago as saying Linebrink has agreed to a four-year, $19 million deal.
Linebrink has been criticized by fans for not being as good as he was a couple of years back. However, relievers can always bounce back and that's what Chicago is hoping for. Now they have what was one of the best relievers in the game some time ago. But four years...ouch. Linebrink is a Class-A free-agent...however Chicago's first pick is protected (top 15). So Milwaukee will get a 2nd round pick instead.
