Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen has had all he can take of his team's uninspired play. After the Texas Rangers beat the White Sox 5-4 in 11 innings on Sammy Sosa's sacrifice fly, Guillen let loose with a profanity-spiked tirade questioning his team's commitment and promising changes ahead.
"It's embarrassing day in and day out to do the same stuff," Guillen said. "People are blaming our pitching staff, but the offense comes along and puts more dirt on the grave. Everyone in that room should look in the mirror and be embarrassed."
Less than two years after winning the World Series, the White Sox (57-76) are in last place in the AL Central. "We've got a $100 million payroll and they don't show it on the field," Guillen said. "If this keeps up, bring on the Double-A kids. They're killing me. They're killing my family, my coaching staff and the White Sox fans. I hope they care the way we care. I'm tired of seeing this [expletive] every day."

you know for a while ive stuck up for guillen but theres only so much he can trash his team, its uncalled for to call them out like that in public, maybe he's done after all..

For months, Ozzie Guillen bit his tongue as the Chicago White Sox slowly let their season slip away.

He patted slumping players on the back. He stayed calm and collected. He was Mr. Nice Guy.

He wasn't himself, and Guillen's sorry for that.

"I got this job because of who I am and not because of what people want me to be," the manager said before the struggling White Sox opened a three-game series with the Indians on Friday. "Ozzie has to be Ozzie. I changed for three months because we were not playing well and I tried to protect people to be nice.

"I really regret the way I was for three months. I really regret who I was for three months."

Guillen's frustration level reached the boiling point earlier this week in Texas, when he expressed embarrassment at his team's play and threatened to bring up minor league players for the rest of this season.

Two years removed from winning the World Series, the White Sox (57-77) have lost 16 of 19 and are in last place in the AL Central, a stunning slide for a team with a $100 million payroll and a lineup stuffed with All-Stars.

Guillen remains puzzled by his team's poor season, but isn't blaming any lack of effort.

"I never said the players quit on me," he said. "I never said they don't play hard enough. I just said it's hard to see this thing every day. I just let them know the way I feel. I don't say anything different than I did in the past. It's hard for me and it's hard for a lot of people to watch this day in and day out.

"It's funny when people talk about that I lose my players ... well, I guess they quit playing for me in April, because we're not playing well all year long."
