| Jenks closing in on record Chicago White Sox closer Bobby Jenks pitched the ninth inning against Seattle last night for his 33rd save in 38 chances. He has retired 38 straight batters, tying David Wells' American League record set in 1998 with the New York Yankees. San Francisco's Jim Barr (1972) holds the major-league record of 41 consecutive batters retired. TheStar.com - Sports - Jenks closing in on record |

| Re: Jenks closing in on record I agree completely. Shouldn't these be seperate records? There's no comparing the strain of throwing the perfect game (I assume it would've had to have been a perfect game, right?) then throwing a perfect inning, resting, throwing another two days later, and so on.
