Finally, after weeks of on-again, off-again trade and contract extension rumors, the Chicago White Sox and P Mark Buehrle have agreed to a four-year, $56 million deal. Buehrle wanted a no trade clause and got it, but only in the first year of the deal. In return, according to the Associated Press, "If he is traded during a window in the second or third seasons, the annual salary goes to $15 million that year and a fifth season is added, also at $15 million." Wow, $14 million per year. I just don't see how he's a $14 million a year player.

But all the power to the Chi Sox, at least nobody will be dishing out top prospects for a rent a player.

But I think this limits the talent pool of available pitchers at the trade deadline.
