Mark Buehrle trade rumors

So the speculation is that the Chicago White Sox are shopping P Mark Buehrle, and one rumor has him going to the Mets. Should they deal Buehrle?

Cool Re: Mark Buehrle trade rumors

Sox would be nuts to trade him. He's a 28 year old lefty and is still putting up good numbers:

4-3, 3.45 ERA, 1.09 WHIP.

Good lefty's are hard to find.

He's going to be a free agent, though, and the Sox are done for this year. Doesn't it make sense to shop him for some prospects, to rebuild?

Re: Mark Buehrle trade rumors

By all accounts Buerhle won't resign with the White Sox so he's sort of forcing their hand if they don't want to be left empty handed.

The latest reports say the Red Sox have become the favorites to land the lefty.

Do they really need him, or are they trying to get him to keep him away from the Yankees.

If the deal indeed happens, whose spot in the rotation will Buehrle take?

well this year i would say its a toss up between Wakefield and Schilling

next year Schill will most likely not be resigned if this trade happens

Re: Mark Buehrle trade rumors

if the Red Sox get him he would replace Tavarez right now then next year if they don't resign Schilling they would bring Lester up. I don't know if Wakefield will retire but if he does they'll with have to find another starter. But i would love for the Red Sox to get him and that wuold have to make them the World Series favorite.

why would he replace Tavarez when he has won like 4 in a row ?

and they also have Gabbard to bring up when needed, he won his start earlier in the year

Cool Re: Mark Buehrle trade rumors

Wow. If Milwaukee got Buehrle, they would be tough to catch in the NL Central.

The Milwaukee Brewers are discussing the possibility of trading for Chicago White Sox left-hander Mark Buehrle.

Buehrle would give the Brewers a potentially excellent postseason rotation: Buerhle, right-hander Ben Sheets, left-hander Chris Capuano and righty Jeff Suppan.

The move also would allow the team to move righty Claudio Vargas or Dave Bush to the bullpen.

That would arguably give them the best pitching staff in baseball. Wow.
