Fire Ozzie Guillen

There are rumors around that the White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen might be on the hotseat. Chicago GM Kenny Williams gave him the vote of confidence, pointing instead to some offseason moves that he appeared to regret making (didn't go into specifics though). Still, Ozzie's one of those guys whose act has got to get old after a while. Should the Sox fire Ozzie Guillen?

I agree. At first his tactics probably do get his players fired up, but after a while it would get very old.

Cool Re: Fire Ozzie Guillen

I gained so much respect for him the way he managed in the World Series - managing by his gut, instead of managing by computer like most of these guys do.

Ozzie could manage for my team any day of the week.

Ozzie Guillen doesn't feel endangered.

Empowered, perhaps.

When told before Friday's series opener at Seattle that White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf said during this week's league owners meetings that "Ozzie is my manager" of a team that will finish out of the playoffs for the second consecutive season, Guillen responded incredulously, "Well, I'm still under contract."

A few minutes later, he quipped, "I expect to be the manager of the White Sox for the next 20 years. Sorry for the people of Chicago that don't want to hear that. But it's up to them,"
Endangered? Guillen expects to manage White Sox 'for the next 20 years' - MLB - Yahoo! Sports

Okay, 2 questions:

1) Should Ozzie come back next year?
2) Will Ozzie come back next year?

Re: Fire Ozzie Guillen

Should Ozzie come back? Of course, he's just a few years removed from a World Series. Will he? No, I don't think so. Kenny Williams needs a scapegoat and Guillen's the guy. It's a shame that it this day and age coaches get next to no leeway when times get tough.

Re: Fire Ozzie Guillen

Ken Rosenthal (Fox Sports) said yesterday, the ChiSox will sign Ozzie to an extension.

Why, who knows.
