| White Sox Rowand trade rumors Could the White Sox be looking to re-acquire CF Aaron Rowand? That's the rumor according to the Chicago Sun Times, which is reporting "A source indicated that Sox general manager Ken Williams has been in talks with Philadelphia GM -- and good friend -- Pat Gillick about a deal that would send middle-relief help, including left-hander Boone Logan, to the Phillies for former Sox outfielder Aaron Rowand." Think it'll happen?

Re: White Sox Rowand trade rumors Maybe not. The Phils have a lot of young OF and when Rowand got hurt last year Shane Victorino stepped and and played great. Kid has unbelievable speed, great arm, and can hit. He does all things better than Rowand. This year he will start in RF but I think Rowand's days are numbered.

Re: White Sox Rowand trade rumors Plenty of organizations make bad decisions in baseball. However, they do not always have second chances. If they were to re-do the trade, would the Phillies want Thome back? No, since they have the monsterous Ryan Howard at first.

Re: White Sox Rowand trade rumors Well watch the Phils this year and you will hear of him. Kid can play. I liked Rowand, guy hustles, works hard and never complains. But baseball is a business these days and we could use some solid bullpen help so it looks like Rowand and Lieber are our two expendable pieces. The Phils also have another young speedster named Michael Bourn who got the Sept call up last yr. Great speed, gd glove, needs to work on the hitting but so far is having a great spring. Looks like he will head north come April and be the 4th OF.

Re: White Sox Rowand trade rumors Shane Victorino, aka the Flying Hawaiian is a former track star from Hawai...for all his assets, he is still a 5'9" 160 lb kid who is not going to have Rowand's power numbers...so I do not see the big deal here...Rowand fields and runs well, and in the past has hit for both average and power... I wouldn't give centerfield to the kid any time soon.

Re: White Sox Rowand trade rumors You must be thinking of a different Rowand because Aaron Rowand on the Phils does not hit for power or average. The guy is a great defensive player but he tends to get hurt a lot with his aggressive play. 6 years in baseball and he has only played a full season once (2005) and his number were 13HR, 69 RBI and a .270 avg. Oh, and 32 BB to go with 116K's. He did break 20 HR once in 2004 and hit over .300 that year too, but only played 140 games. And he is making $3.2M. Victorino is 3 years younger, makes $325K, has insane speed, good arm and plays good D. On a team with Howard and Utley the Phils don't need more big hitters, they need guys who will get on base. I like Rowand, but I will take Victorino over him anyday.

Re: White Sox Rowand trade rumors I would rather leave Rowand right where he is, and find another way to get that middle relief. Like trading Jon Leiber. I hope the Phils hold out for a better deal, and don't give up Rowand. This deal might help the bullpen, but it weakens you line up or bench, or both.
