| McCarthey traded? Wow .. what a shocker! I thought McCarthey was suppose to be the pitcher of the future for the Sox! So ... we could have had our lead off hitter / Outfielder by trading McCarthey for Alfonso Soriano ... but that was not good enough ... we had to get prospects instead? Personally .. I wasn't that impressed with BM, but I would much rather have Soriano than pitching prospects. If we would have made that trade last year, we probably would have made the playoffs .. and then who knows what might have happened! I don't see us improving the team at all for this year. I don't think we make the playoffs again with this lineup. Anyone agree/disagree? |

| Re: McCarthey traded? For those unfamiliar with the deal Buzzman's referring to, the AP is reporting that "the Texas Rangers acquired right-hander Brandon McCarthy from the Chicago White Sox in a five-player deal on Saturday... The Rangers gave up 2003 first-round pick John Danks, a 21-year left-hander who hasn't yet pitched in the major leagues, and right-handers Nick Masset and Jacob Rasner in exchange for McCarthy and 18-year-old outfielder David Paisano." What do you guys think about this deal?

| Re: McCarthey traded? I am not at all upset about trading McCarthey ... even for those prospects. They sound promising ... I just don't like the fact that we could have made a stronger playoff run by trading BM for Soriano... He would have filled some gaping holes that we have ... We would not have signed Posednik this year, because we would have had to seal up Soriano for years to come ... like the Cubbies did. |
