Last night, the ChiSox finalized a trade with the Phillies...RHP Freddy Garcia for RHP Gavin Floyd and LHP Gio Gonzalez. The White Sox have a depth of starters and they've finally begun to dish it out.

Floyd is an interesting cat because he was slated to be a solid pitcher for the Phils' along with Cole Hamels. However, he ran into a bit of trouble in the majors and I believe has been passed between the rotation and the pen. They soured on him a lot over the last couple of years.

However, with Brandon McCarthy entering their rotation along with the future of Floyd, they have a nice future to look forward to.

Personally, I think Gavin FLoyd could turn out to be very good.

I don't think his pitching coach in Philly was very good.

He went straight to the pros out of high school and is still very young.

Freddie was good at times, but getting older and wanted too much money.

This was a good trade for the Chisox.
