Alex Rodriguez to Cubs?

Phil Rogers of the Chicago Tribune's Phil Rogers has, in the words of Yahoo! Sports, "cooked up a scenario" which would send Aramis Ramirez and Jacque Jones to the Yankees in exchange for Alex Rodriguez. Yahoo! Sports' take? "There's no way Yankees GM Brian Cashman is going to give away Rodriguez, the reigning Most Valuable Player, and this trade would be basically giving away Rodriguez. Keep in mind that Texas is paying almost half of the $108 million owed to Rodriguez over the last four years of his contract, making him a relative bargain to the Yankees."

Any chance that A-Rod winds up becoming a Chicago Cub?

None. The only place A-Rod is going to end up is in a psychitrist's chair.

How about a trade involving Mark Prior?...he's great but often injured...but high ceiling and a pitcher...

THere's a better chance Babe Ruth rejoins the Boston Red Sox as a free-agent and pummels the Yankees.

LOL...yep.

Yeah, this "rumor" (more like one columnist's dream) is good for a laugh, if nothing else. LOL!

Aramis Ramirez is the most underated player in the game...Rodriquez in a Cubs uniform would be sweet but not for the great steal from Pitt!!

Re: Alex Rodriguez to Cubs?

The A-Rod to Chicago rumors have found new life. According to reports, Scott Boras is already negotiating with various different potential owners for the Cubbies. When asked about it on Sunday, he said that the reports were "nonsense". But where there's smoke, there's fire, right?

Yeah I read that crap on ESPN last night and it has Rodriguez being a part owner after he retires. I would love to see A-Rod in a Cubs uniform but where would he play. The Cubs just signed a multi-year deal with Ramirez and he has been so stable for the Cubs that I would hate to see him go. He's 3 years younger than A-Rod and won't cost the team so much.

Re: Alex Rodriguez to Cubs?

Some are speculating the rumor was spread by Mark Cuban who wants to own the Cubs.

The Yanks are asking MLB to investigate the rumor I think.

But when they're under contract, it's tampering.

Oh I know. But do you think the Yankees play by the rules, I don't think so. It's ok for George, just not anyone else.

I don't think it's ever been proved that Steinbrenner has tampered with anybody, has it?
