Cubs versus Astros Today the Cubs start a three game series in Houston. The Astros are 27-30 and are eight and half games behind the first place Cardinals in the Central. They Astros aren't playing well at all as of late. They have only won two out of their last twelve games. Today on the mound for the Cubs is Zambrano. For the Astros its Nieve who is 1-3 in his eight starts with a 5.36 era. This should be an interesting match up.

Re: Cubs versus Astros In only the Cubs third shut out of the year, yes Zambrano pitched a heck of a game going eight innings before handing the game to Ohman for the save. Way to go Cubs. Today our boy wonder Kerry Wood is going up against Rodriguez. This will be Wood's fourth start this year. Lets hope his arm holds up. Rodriquez is 6-3 in his twelve starts with a 4.81 era.

Re: Cubs versus Astros The Cubs lost yesterday by a score of 1-4. Wood was credited for the loss. He pitched only three plus innings and gave up four runs. His 75 pitches is about his limit so I guess Dusty had to pull him. The Cubs bullpen gave up only four hits after that. Shame. Today the Cubs put Marshall up against Sampson. This is Sampson's first start of the season for the Astros. Lets see if the Cubs can steal two from the Astros.

Re: Cubs versus Astros Cubs lost yesterday and their record is now a horrid 23-35...twelve games below .500 Marshall didn't pitch bad at all. In seven innings he gave up one run and only four hits. He did give up a gopher ball to the long time Astro catcher Ausmus and that was all the Astros needed. Sampson for the Astros went seven full innings giving up only three hits and a walk.
