Cubs vs. Cardinals

The Cubs start a three game series in St. Louis today. The ball goes to Marshall who is 3-3 with a 5.03 era. Seriously, Marshall has been awful this year I can only think of one good outing that he had. For the Cards its Ponson who is 4-0 with a 2.92 era. The Cardinals are an extraordinary team and I can't think of a reason for them to lose. It will be interesting to see what the Cubs do with 1B and 2B.

Re: Cubs vs. Cardinals

The Cubs have won two in a row. The first game the Cubs won 5-4 and second they won by a score of 8-5. This is great! In the first game Marshall pitched six full innings giving up only two runs to this great hitting ballclub. Six pitchers later, Dempster came in and closed the door for the win.

In the second game which was Rusch vs. Mulder, Rusch went five innings giving up three before handing it over to the bullpen. The lowly Cubs scored five eight runs on twelve hits off of Mulder which is very impressive. Go Cubs Go!

Re: Cubs vs. Cardinals

Today in the final game against the Cardinals. The Cubs pitcher Maddux will be facing Marquis. These two pitchers are remarkably close in stats. Maddux had a great start and then started to slump off just when Derek Lee got hurt. Marquis is 7-4 with a 4.75 era in his eleven starts. This is a good opportunity to sweep the Cards. Its all up to the bats, Maddux should be able to hold them to three.

Re: Cubs vs. Cardinals

The Cubs lost to the Cardinals by a score of 6-9 yesterday. I guess you can't really blame them, I mean how bad did the Cardinals not want to get swept by the Cubs of all teams. Maddux gave up a whopping six runs in five innings. The bullpen didn't do much better. Although the Cubs were winning in the fourth inning, they couldn't hold them. Oh well two out of three ain't bad.

Today the Cubs start a new series vs. the Astros
