Barret Suspension

Michael Barret, the young promising catcher for the Chicago Cubs, was suspended for ten games. As if the Cubs need more rocks thrown at them. This suspension was for the brawl against the White Sox catcher that happened last Saturday. That was quick handiwork by the Commish. Rocks thrown at the Cubs? Last I check, it was the guy's own fault for coldcocking the White Sox catcher. Seems like a fitting punishment to me.

Re: Barret Suspension

Barret was 100 percent wrong, that's part of the game just ask Ray Fosse when he got ran over by Pete Rose in an all- star game.( There just was no need for that in an exhibition game though) And more recently Jorge Posada.

Re: Barret Suspension

Yes, it was very unprofessional. I think 10 days is a slight bit harsh though, but he was endangering the life and career of a fellow MLB player.

If you didn't read it yet, but Sports Illustrated performed a poll over the last week for MLB players and they said they would most likely see AJ Pierzynski get hit by a pitch. He is obviously, not liked by the other players around the league.
