Marshall in relief was a bad idea in the spring and is a bad idea now, but the Cubs team that kept giving Sean Gallagher multiple chances to embarrass himself out of the pen last year was sure to stick him in the pen at some point. He'll be interesting in NL-only leagues once once he gets the rotation spot he's earned.

Carmen Pignatiello will be sent down to make room. Marshall is a starter and potentially a good one and to top it off he was being stretched back out in AAA after they tried him in the pen this spring. So I don't understand putting him back in the pen now...not smart. Well, now we basically have 7 starters on our roster and Marshall may well be the 4th best, yet he is destined to be a rarely used spare part in our pen.
