Mark Prior is officially a free-agent. The Cubs decided not to offer him arbitration on Wednesday. He's just 27-years old and has had shoulder injuries that most men can only dream of.

He's expected to be out for the first few months of 2008 rehabbing from surgery.

I recall in 2003, everyone thought he would be one of the best pitchers in the game for years to come. Bad luck I guess.

I really like the guy and think hes worth a gamble, pick him up Bravos..of course for cheap that is..

Like the Rangers with Gagne last year, this will be a perfect pickup for a middle of a pack team willing to take a gamble.

Now that he is gone, I would like the Reds to sign him for the league minimum, and put him in the bullpen. I think he could be pretty effective there, and he would be better than most they had last year.

I think he would have been great if he could have stayed healthy? But didn't his name show up on the Mitchell Report also?
