| Maddux is 4-0 Alright Greg! Way to go. I am so glad that the Cubs have Greg Maddux. I am almost sorry that he is with the Cubs because he probably won't get to the World Series as long as he is with the Cubs. So far I think its him and Oswalt that are the only ones at 4-0. | Re: Maddux is 4-0 Not only is he 4-0, his ERA is 0.99. Wow! This is the first time IN HIS CAREER that Maddux has won his first four starts, and has a 0.73 WHIP. Plus he has 18 strikeouts is just over 27 innings. I've got to tell you, this might be one of the most impressive pitching performances I've ever seen. I'd love to think he can keep it up, but the guy is 40... odds are he'll tire out as the season goes on. |

| The thing about Maddux is that he is a pitcher not a thrower...as long as his control remains in tact and he gets rest, why should he not have a good year?...I mean, its not like he depends on a +90 mph fastball...he is a pitchers, pitcher...I like the professor...to me he was the best pitcher of the 90's...as far as art over talent goes. |

| Re: Maddux is 4-0 Gotham I see what you are saying about Maddux being a pitcher and not a thrower and I agree with you when you say that he is not dependent upon a 90mph fast ball for wins but art over talent? Dont you mean hard work over talent? I've heard that Maddux knows every batter in the majors by heart and that he spends just as much time on film as he does throwing. I also heard that he has the IQ of a genius so maybe what you are looking for is mind over matter or brains over muscle. |
