After much ado was made about the
Terry Francona incident last week, the MLB uniform police also gave
Lou Piniella a call about an evil fleece pullover and gray t-shirt combination.
Lou explains:
''It was cold, so I wore the fleece top,'' Piniella said of the pullover that is included among the uniform items. ''I had on the gray [T-shirt] underneath the fleece.''
Oh, Lou! How could you?!? Or more specifically, who cares? Perhaps the next line of the story will give us some insight.
But MLB was watching -- and so, apparently, are baseball's corporate sponsors, who make the uniforms.
Ahh, the sponsors. And the truth comes out, Major League Baseball doesn't care if the managers wear the uniforms, but the people that make them do. I mean, do you look at that picture and feel an urge to buy an authentic Cubs jersey?
