The Cubs tied the record for most runs in an opening day game today with 16 runs. They have won the last four years in a row on opening day. I say lets enjoy it while we can. Our lead off guy got a triple, our left fielder hit a three run homer and our ace didn't make it to the fifth inning but the bullpen shut them out. GO CUBS.

A five run first inning is definitely the way to start, pete. Murton goes 3-for-5 with a homer and 3 RBI, Walker goes 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and 3 RBI, and Lee, Barrett and Perez all drive in a pair of runs. Now, can they maintain that kind of offensive output until the pitching gets healthy?
