Chicago Cubs Websites

Being a die hard Cubs fan, I put together a list of websites for all you Cubs fans or Cubs fans wanna bes. All of these sites have value, some more than others. I hope these Cubs websites give you more information on the Cub’s history news, and reports during the 2006 Cubs season.

http://www.allsports.com/mlb/cubs/ At allsports.com there is a message board, a story archive, Cubs schedule and team info. Also there is a scoreboard, standings, schedule, and news for the rest of the major leagues. It is updated daily.

http://www.wrigleyvillecubs.com/ Wrigleyville.com lives in the past. It is a static site that has interesting facts on Ernie Banks, Ryne Sandberg, Mark Grace, Sammy Sosa, Andre Dawson and of course the Cub’s crown jewel-Wrigley Field. There is a history page and other interesting facts about the past and the curse.

http://www.chicago-cubs-baseball.com/ Chicago-Cubs-Baseball is another static site that was last updated in 2004. It has interesting tidbits about the city of Chicago, the legends that the Cubs have had and the Cubs rivalries. There are some great photos there and a Cub’s joke page. Worth checking out if you want some visuals on Cub’s history.

http://cubs.scout.com/ Cubs.scout.com is fully active and has plenty of information. There are many stories on different players that you don’t hear about in the regular news. The forum is very active and the site also has a chatroom. This site has a lot of information on minor league up and comers. This is definitely an inside scoop type of site. Also known as insidetheivy.com but it just directs to cubs.scout.com

http://www.geocities.com/mlb_cub/news.htm This is a static site that hasn’t been updated since Sosa was traded. There is a page on Cubs history and Wrigley Field. The information is valid and informative.

http://www.cubbiesbaseball.com/ This is a great site if you live in Chicago and are actually going to go to the game. It has all the bars listed, parking tips and other cool stuff. The site also has official news but its not really news if you know what I mean. The message boards also has a fairly active forum, but not anything to be excited about.

http://www.cubscentral.com/www.cubscentral.com has excellent visuals, is totally updated daily, and a lot of useful information. This site has every transaction made by the Cubs from player signings to minor league players. I like the front office page and the depth chart. This site is very informative and I’m sure will be better as the season rolls on.

http://www.cubscast.com/cubs7thinningletter.php This is for all you techies out there. This site has audio podcasts that you can download. You can also get the mp3. The podcast or the mp3 is a 20 minute newscast that updates the week and injuries and other Cub stuff that is happening. If you want the latest in Cub’s news and you don’t like to read and would rather listen then this is the site for you. I like this site a lot because when I play it on Winamp a summary of the podcast scrolls in letters. Really cool.

http://www.dustybaker.com/ This is Dusty Baker’s official site. It features a Tip of the Month which are reprints from the book “YOU CAN TEACH HITTING” by Dusty Baker. It basically is a site that advertises his book and cd-roms but its also a membership site. If you subscribe you get access to behind the scenes interviews and images of the making of his cd-rom. If you coach baseball, this is recommended.

http://www.jonmdavis.net/cubs/sound.html This site is a very cool sound page. None of the stuff is recent but if you like the Cubs and have been following them, then it’s a good place to reminisce. It includes mp3’s from 1970, 1984, 1989, 1998, and 2001-2005 of great hits and other stuff. There are about 100 mp3s on this site. Enough to keep you busy for a while.

http://www.jonmdavis.net/goofy.html Last and certainly least. This site is a goof page. The guy took pictures of Cubs players and superimposed them doing goofy stuff. If you wanna laugh or maybe just something to laugh at then check it out.

http://www.prosportsdaily.com/mlb/cubs/ Prosportsdaily.com has news on every team in the majors. The Cubs page is just daily news that is updated weekly. It includes scores and trade rumors. Its worth looking at.

ECONOMIC boycott of the Cubs. Spread the word.

No matter what well-meaning Cub fans might say in the heat of moment, a total, unrestricted boycott of the Cubs just won't work -- Wrigley Field is just too tempting a place for weak-minded weekend fans. But a well-focused, well-intentioned ECONOMIC boycott of our beloved Cubs can succeed. Check out the following website Boycott The Cubs

Spread the word about BoycottTheCubs.com to other Cub fans who have finally had enough!

Sincerely,
A fed up fan.

Re: Chicago Cubs Websites

Hi Leo,

Thanks for letting us know about boycottthecubs.com

I upgraded your membership so that you can now start threads. How about starting a new thread here titled "Boycott the Cubs" and give us a summary of the info that you've got on your site?

Thanks, Ross
