| Why I am a Cubs fan Being a Cubs fan is very similar to be religious. Its not easy at times but for some reason you don’t want to give it up. I have been a Cubs fan all my life since I am from Chicago. I remember being told by my father that if I turned into a Sox fan that I would have to find a new place to live. The rivalry between the White Sox and the Cubs is a bit different than the one you find in New York because northsiders aren’t violent. You won’t get jumped for wearing a White Sox hat in Wrigleyville or vice versa. I can say however that Cubs fans do not like White Sox fans and the opposite is true as well. Once you visit Wrigley Field you are hooked. You will never see greener grass and you immediately know that this is what the baseball gods meant when they created the game. I could sit at Wrigley Field all day and its no surprise that the stands are filled every day in spite of a dismal Cubs record. |
