| Barret The Cubs don't have much to be proud of this year. Prior and Wood are fighting injuries. Maddux is on his last year and is doubtful to win his 20 games. The whole outfield is new and there is a big question mark at second base. What they do have is a solid catcher in Michael Barret. This guy is working hard and has gotten better every year. As Cub fans, lets hope that is guy breaks out and gives the Cubbies an extra bat so that the season isn't a total embarrassment. |

| Re: Barret Barrett is a great defender, and actually had the lowest ERA amongst catchers in the National League in 2005. His 63 frame allows him to stop pitches that might otherwise be headed for the backstop, so that allows the pitcher to take more chances that he might otherwise be hesitant to make. The guy is also no slouch with the bat either, hitting .287 and .276 in 04 and 05, along with 16 home runs each of those seasons. Unfortunately for him, the Cubs pitchers cant stay healthy enough for him to get the kind of credit he probably deserves. One of the better catches in baseball, to be sure. |

| Michael Barrett is a great character. When he sprays the baseball, he can be a real pesky hitter. I always thought he could hit 300 if he just kept his stroke nice and short and didn't get caught up chasing the ol long-ball. Unfortunately, he hit a few last year, and they are addictive. I really hope for all you Cub fans, that he only hits 10 this year, because that will mean he is hitting about .315 . If he knocks out 23 dingers, he will hit .270 with less RBI's. Doubles Barrett ... gap to gap !!!!
