Kerry Wood Surgery

Kerry Wood's having surgery. Again.

It was reported yesterday that the Cubs pitcher will have minor arthroscopic surgery on his right knee next week. He wasn't expected to be ready for the start of the season anyway, because he's still recovering from shoulder surgery. I know he was an All-Star once, and maybe he can be again, but he missed a good 3 months last year and made something like 87 trips to the DL.

Kerry Wood -- washed up at 28?

Re: Kerry Wood

Maybe if whoever makes the decision to put him out there, whether it be the Cubs management, team doctors, or Wood himself, wait until the boy is actually healed, then he might not have to go back to surgery again and again. I know that this time its his knee, so its different but didn't he have surgery on his arm twice? I think that has to do with playing while you are hurt instead of waiting to be completely healed. I know the Cubs need good pitching and having someone like Wood on the staff is a necessary thing right now because they are so thin, but rushing things just makes it worse.
