| Re: Soriano agrees to eight year contract with Cubs I'm just happy to see them being active in the free agent market this year. Last year was a disappointment. Jacque Jones was not a bad pick up and Juan Pierre had his bright moments. But the Pierre acquisition had it's flaws, #1 being taking someone with only 1 year left on his contract. So, I'm for signing a multi-year with these guys, let's get some stable players, and good players. Something that we have lacked for years. And it's nice to see Ramirez resigning. |

| Re: Soriano agrees to eight year contract with Cubs Where are they going to play him. With the DeRosa signing, it looks like he will not get his wish to move back to 2B. I don't think they would put him in CF as they have a player ready to come up. I thought he said during the season that going to a team that was going to put him at 2B was a priority. |

A health Derek Lee would welcome him. ...but $126 over 8????...ONLY in Fantasy Baseball would that be right...and only as a second baseman... |

Pierre to the Dodgers. Go Dodgers! |

| Re: Soriano agrees to eight year contract with Cubs Pierre is a great player. He has speed and you can always count on him to make some form of contact with the ball. It's just a shame that the Cubs did not have a good enough season for him to stay around. But it was nice to have a good centerfielder on the team for a change. The Dodgers have a good one. It's funny, that's the third former Cub to play for the dodgers in two years, and if history is any implication, he will have a good season. Also, from what I am hearing, the Reds are going to be somewhat of a good team, the just acquired Alex Gonzalez who is a good shortstop. Jerry Narron is from the town I live in and his daughter goes to my church. She got married saturday and I was talking to him at the wedding (and he knows I am die hard Cubs), but he was telling me that you can expect the Reds to make some more big acquisitions...We'll see. GO CUBS!!!!!! |

I wasn't too happy about the Gonzalez pickup. I thought they needed more offense since they traded away so much of it for relief help. If you see him again could you ask him which big aquisition I can expect or who they are looking at. A lot of what I thought they could get are signing already. |

| Re: Soriano agrees to eight year contract with Cubs Just as a side note with Narron, could you also tell him to next year pick a lineup and stick with it. There is no need to move guys up and down the lineup everyday just to tinker with it. Some players do not respond well when hitting at the bottom or leading off. Now we can get back to talking about Soriano, sorry |
