According to ESPN and AP reports, Vinny Del Negro will be the next head coach of the Chicago Bulls.
An official announcement is expected later this week. Good hire?

Not a bad hire, he's a Steve Kerr guy, so Paxson likes him. I guess it's not a bad hire.

Being an assistant GM doesnt make him a good coach. Some of these recent signings I scratch my head, its like hey you used to play in the nba come be my new coach.

Here is the thing with this hire, he was under Steve Kerr in Phoenix, you know Kerr is best buddies with. Bulls' GM John Paxson. I will give Pax a vote of confidence here.

I'm with you on this, Vince. Del Negro hasn't even been an assistant, has he? Questionable hire that smacks of desperation.

I think Vinny could be a good coach down the line, but you would think that you would want someone with some level of coaching experience. Being an assistant GM is good and everything, but I fail to see how it makes him a better candidate over someone like Dwayne Casey or Chuck Person who each have good coaching experience. We will see how this works out, and I do like the Bulls so I hope it goes good, but right now I am less than thrilled at this hiring. Now go prove me wrong Vinny and lead this team back to the playoffs.

Sorry B9 it's the NBA, not the buddy system. If this is how Vinny got the job I'm not too happy about it. Fans pay to see a winner, not to see someone take care of their buddy. Like B88 said I'm not happy about the signing but I hope it does work out some how.
