Avery interested in coaching Bulls

Avery Johnson said today he is interested in the Bulls' head coaching job and plans to talk to John Paxson today.

Johnson, who was fired from the Dallas Mavericks after they were eliminated from the playoffs, was on the "Waddle and Silvy Show" on WMVP-AM (1000) and said he's not interested in taking next season off if things work out with the Bulls, who have the No. 1 pick in the June 26 draft.

"Yes, I'm interested," Johnson said. "I'm going to have a conversation today with John.

No, Paxson is basically letting anyone who's interested interview, he' going to interview Avery, though I doubt he will get the job.
