Bulls Deal Wallace to Cleveland, Acquire Goodon and Hughes

The Bulls sent Ben Wallace and Joe Smith to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Adrian Griffin to Seattle in a three-way deal that would bring Larry Hughes and Drew Gooden to the Bulls, according to a source.
Wally Szczerbiak would go from Seattle to Cleveland.

Cedric Simmons and Shannon Brown also may head to the Bulls. Draft picks also are involved. The trade is pending league approval.

Deal ships Wallace for Hughes, Gooden :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Bulls

I don't like trading Hughes and Gooden here, especially not for Ben Gordon. No sir, don't like this trade at all.

Yeah, that's who I meant. Wallace was who I was thinking of. Grumble, grumble... I'm having a bad time of it with names recently.

I on the other hand like the trade...Hughes was not needed though Gooden has some years left in him...but the presence of a winner like Wallace might be the extra push the Cavs and Lebron need...and Smith is okay...

Re: Bulls Deal Wallace to Cleveland, Acquire Goodon and Hughes

Well I'm glad to see Big Ben go. I think I said before, that I wish the Bulls would have kept Tyson Chandler and never went after Wallace in the first place. I think the Bulls are getting Joe Smith back with the Bulls getting Drew Gooden in return, basicly the same players imo. I have a feeling that Gooden is not going to be too happy with this trade. The big question for the Bulls is. Who is going to play Center for them now? Gray, Gooden, or Noah? I don't know if this deal helps anyone to be honest with you. I guess Cleveland gets better on the defense, but Wallace doesn't score. Looks like LeBron going to have to take a few more shots.

Yeah, Tyson Chandler is starting to go big down in New Orleans (I think that is where he is at, right?) Big rebounder...gets you 12-12 a night...but who knew he had it in him? The guy looked like a bust for a while.

A like the move, Gooden finally gives them an every day guy at the 4 and when Hughes is healthy he is a very good scorer.

Yeah, from the Bulls perspective, I think you get two really good players here (two of my favorite Cavs, unfortunately), and you dumped some dead weight on us in Wallace, who looked like he's been pretty much dogging it lately. So in the end, it looks like you definitely get the better end of this deal.

Cool Re: Bulls Deal Wallace to Cleveland, Acquire Goodon and Hughes

It was a smart move for the Bulls. Wallace was only useful to them if they were contending so they moved him and got a little more offense. Plus, isn't Wallace a malcontent?
