Patrick Sharp contract

The Chicago Blackhawks have given forward Patrick Sharp, who has a career-high 22 goals this season, a new four-year, $15.6 million contract extension. So what do you think? Is this a good move by the Hawks?

Re: Patrick Sharp contract

I think the B'hawks are desperate to find a solid base to bring this team up from the doldrums it has been in for years. I think they need to have a few players that are core Chicago - so i think it's a good deal - havlat just keeps getting himself injured-but he's healthy again.
Speaking of stars, though - Lang and Kane scored last night to beat the Avs. in a SO and lalime is giving them a number one guy in net.
Avs are at a real disadvantage with Sakic, Smyth and Stastny gone with injuries/recovering from operations.

Re: Patrick Sharp contract

There's a big article in the Toronto Star today about how the hawks have rebuilt inside (on ice) and out (front office-Tallon, savard behind the bench) and they are geared for greatness after years of bottom dwelling - stars like Kane, Toews, Sharp, Seabrook, older veterans like havlat, lang, the muscle of Ruutu, the sudden emergence of lalime.
The article tells Maple leafs fans to take heart - we could turn it around too.
