Aucoin Interview

Quote:
CHICAGO (Ticker) - SportsTicker recently obstructed Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Adrian Aucoin and held him long enough to ask the following questions:

1) What CD would you have to have with you on a cross-country drive?

Any of the Led Zeppelin box set. I grew up listening to them. I could listen to them for hours.

2) Which city do you look forward to visiting during a road trip?

It used to be Chicago until I played here. Now it's West Coast cities like San Jose and Anaheim. The fans there are really starting to like their hockey.

3) While playing a round of golf, what three famous people would you want to complete your foursome?

All comedians because my golf game is so bad. Bill Murray, John Candy and Dan Aykroyd.

4) Who is your all-time favorite roommate on the road?

Eric Cairns. He is a big, tough guy and we spent time babysitting each other at points of our careers.

5) What family tradition do you have during the holidays?

Eating too much. I'm not sure if that's a tradition, but it's something we do.
Sounds like one of the good guys in hockey.

Cool Re: Aucoin Interview

AuCoin was a great guy and a great player for the Islanders. I was so pissed when Milbury let him walk...The year before the strike at the end of the season, I bought his jersey. But then the strike happened and the following year he left for Chicago so I never got to wear his jersey to a game (while he was on the team - I still wear it anyway as everyone wears ex-players jerseys. There are still a million Peca jerseys that are worn as well as others).

I figured the Islanders would never let him go. I don't know what made me think that Mad Mike would do something rational for a change.

The safe bet if you are going to buy a jersey is DiPietro. It'll be good for 15 years!

Re: Aucoin Interview

Not after he has a career ending injury around Christmas. A contract that long has got to be bad karma.

I know. And the second I would buy the jersey, that would probably happen

Re: Aucoin Interview

You must have bad luck, ThePundit. I feel sorry for ya.

How is your baseball team doing? I'm sorry to ask you these hard and painful questions once in a while forcing you to check on your fate!

Not good MJH. I pretty much have no shot. But thanks for asking.

Re: Aucoin Interview

Great questions and love the answers. I've been a big Aucoin fan since his days here in Vancouver.
