Should the Bears sign Plax

I was reading threw the Chicago Sun-Times on it's website (because no one buys newspapers theese days) And Carol Slezak wrote a column saying the Bears in need of a go to guy should sign Plaxico Burress. I'm not so sure about this one, what do you think?

Bears need go-to receiver, go for Plaxico :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Carol Slezak

Yes, a one year deal. You need receiving help, this will give it to you and buy some time.

I disagree, I love the idea of Plax on the field, but I don't even know if he'll be in the NFL next year, he could be in jail. Not to mention the fact the fact he is always hurt. If they could get him in a deal like the Giants offered before he got cut, with the pay on a game-by-game salary then it would work, but if not I think we should go Torry Holt rather than Plax

Plax is a better player hurt than Holt is healthy. Although Holt's attitude is a whole lot better. He wont blow off team meetings and such. Game by game salary would be great but he aint a gonna buy it.
If he plays this year, who cares about next? Like I said that buys you time.

But Plax never plays hurt, he almost always sits out with the high ankle sprain which is painful but guys try to go threw it, I really think Torry Holt is the guy this team should add, him cuppled with Hester and Earl Bennat could be a nice 1-2-3, but on the right contract Plax would be alright

I humbly disagree. He played hurt a lot, but he missed a lot of practices.
I'm not saying not to add Holt, he would be nice for most teams without a big receiver.
Most certainly steadier than Plax.

Cutler would do great with Plax.
If they only have him a year, they should get some production out of him before he finds his stupidity in Chicago.
It wasnt a one shot thing.

What about "Marvelous" Marvin Harrison, he would be a good receiver for the Bears.

See I'm not liking that one, I think Plax would be a better option, I don't like how this one sounds "Bears sign late 30s reciever on back end of caeer looking for one last taste of glory, facing possible gun charges" Geez might as well sign Plax

I thought you were comparing their off the field issues. One is just as bad as the other.
That being even, I still would choose Plax.
Besides, he's a real head case and then I can laugh at you all season.

I was comparing the off-field issues, than I dropped the back end of the career and hasn't been good for two years line. Get Plax or Torry Holt

Re: Should the Bears sign Plax

I voted no.....the bears don't need a "me-first" WR who thinks the rules don't apply to him and frequently shows up late for meetings and practice......was stupid enough to shoot HIMSELF in the leg with an illegal concealed weapon (Barney Fife anyone?) got into an argument with a cop recently and may do some jail time and/or be suspended by the NFL for the 2009 season.
