Bears contact Broncos about Cutler

Count the Bears among the 10 teams that have contacted the Denver Broncos about quarterback Jay Cutler -- if you believe the number is that low.

Yahoo! Sports reported Wednesday that the Bears have reached out to the Broncos about Cutler, who has requested a trade. The extent of that discussion is unknown, but it's evident that general manager Jerry Angelo -- to use his pet phrase -- is doing his due diligence.

Angelo said after last season that he was ''fixated'' on the position. In eight years running the Bears, he has rolled through 11 starting quarterbacks and has Kyle Orton entering a make-or-break season in the final year of his contract.

But Angelo isn't about to say if the conversation was a dalliance or a request to keep the Bears informed if the Broncos start taking offers.
''I do not comment on players who are under contract with other teams,'' Angelo said Wednesday.

Of course not -- that would be tampering. Broncos coach Josh McDaniels, speaking earlier this week at the owners meetings in Dana Point, Calif., declared every which way that Cutler is his quarterback

If the bears is thinking about working a deal to get Cutler.
They better leave all option open, i mean all players and draft pick open, that no players is excluded from a trade.

Broncos have a edge if they make a trade with the Bears, Bears or the rest of the other teams that want Cutler.

Clearly, I don't see this happening without a round 1 in the draft and something else or too.

11 QB in 8 years, Fired Jerry Angelo.

Thats amazing that his thinking changed after all them QB they have gone through, Boy is he behind in this league, Most of the other teams have a good QB to help the team get to the Playoff.

What has he been preaching, built a defense to stop the other team from scoring.

If I'm Jerry Angelo which I know I'm not and I know Jerry Angelo won't do this but here are my offers

1st Offers: Kyle Orton, Our 1st Round, and our 2nd roudner for next year

When that doesnt work, my second is the same plus Garret Wolfe

Then if all that fails, I offer Kyle Orton, and my first rounders for this year and next

That's alittle too much to give them, I would give them any player and any pick, but Urlacher, Briggs, Tommy Harris, Ogunleye, Tillman, Vasher and Hester is off limits.

If i were the Broncos, with those limits, I will take Round 1, Greg Olson and maybe Matt Forte.

I'm offering too much?!??!?!?!?!!? Olsen and Forte are the only players along with Hester on that offense that show any sorta of promise what so ever, why not trade Orton and the 2 1st, is a possible 3rd or 4th reciever or maybe starter O-Line and whatever they draft next year which probably be a corner or another mid-level wideout. Than maybe throw in Garret Wolfe to sweeten the deal, but no Olsen and Forte are untouchable too in my mind, just trade Orton and draft picks

Cutler is not worth two 1st, NO WAY, Thats giving away too much to them for a QB they're looking to trade Badly.

Broncos wouldn't want Orton as their QB, but the Bears can't get something for nothing meaning, if the Bears give up a 1st round they would also maybe give-up another player, Forte or Olsen, one of those two would look promising for the Broncos.

If i was the Bears i would trade away any two of three------Round 1, Forte or Olsen, To get Cutler is worth it.

I'll take Cutler than to get a QB in the Draft.

So you're telling me the crappy O-Line man we'd draft and the mid level wide reciever would be better than Cutler, doubt it. And of course you're telling me Kyle Orton is worse than Chris Simms because that is only other non-Cutler QB who's good. I thinked it'd atleast be worth a competition. I think it'd be worse it

They may not be better than Culter this year. However in time they could. Also, I was with you Bears until you sayd 1st round pick for this year AND next.

I didn't say anything about the O-Linemen or WR, I'm saying leave everyone open for a trade except the players i mention earlier.
