Thomas Jones got sent down to #2 for skipping a series of voluntary workouts this summer. Giving Benson the nod. Now I like Benson and all, but is this any way to get the start?

No but the Bears organization picked him very high so its a shame for him to sit on the bench like last year. The Bears have 3 starting runningbacks anyway. Benson should make the most of this opportunity just like Jones made the most of Benson's holdout last year.

Yeah, I like to see what he can do with this shot he is getting. But its a shame that a guy can lose his place over missing a "voluntary" workout. Voluntary makes it sound like, "hey, its nice if you come, but its no big deal."

Well, we all know that the NFL has a whole different definition of the word voluntary than the rest of us. To them, voluntary means "sure, you can skip it, if you don't mind losing your job." Jones is a veteran and should know that. But like Trashed said, they wanted Benson to start all along and this is a convenient excuse to make the move.
