Re: Bears 2006 NFL football preview

Watch out for the Chicago Bears in 2006, says this preview. "The Bears are the only NFL team that are returning all 22 starters on a team that earned a first-round bye in the NFL playoffs the previous year," it says. Add to that the fact that they had a top 10 defense and a top 10 rushing offense last season and have "the easiest schedule in the NFL" this year, and it sure looks as though this team is taylor made for big things.

I don't know...they really failed to up grade their passing game and can't really stretch out the field to use that running game of their...I am guessing 10-6 or 11-5 at best...and gone in the 1st round of the playoffs...

No new WRs, but Grossman and/or Griese alone upgrade it somewhat, don't you think?

Grossman has to stop being hurt...I have always liked Griese...but he keeps getting run out of every NFL town for some reason...how good can he really be?

No...if they have no recievers they will not stretch the field and they will box in the running games they will lose a lot of games 10-6 or 13-9 etc...

They have Muhammad and didnt they draft a rookie whos supposed to be good? They wont be an offensive juggernaut but they will be able to score in the 20s. Their recievers are plenty good enough as is Griese that if you stack the line of scrimmage youll get burned by the pass.

Which will never happen so looks like you got the edge on this debate Goth! However the Panthers passing game did wonderful last year with Steve Smith and a host of journeymen opposite him so who knows?
