JOLIET — Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher will go to trial July 17 to seek custody of his 1-year-old son.
The contentious case has been pending for the past year.
The boy's mother is Tyna M. Robertson, a former Joliet resident who sells real estate and now lives in Naperville. She is the same woman who filed a $35 million lawsuit in March 2003 against Michael Flatley, the Irish dancer known for the "Lord of the Dance" and "Riverdance" productions. Robertson accused Flatley of raping her while they were in a Las Vegas hotel. In September 2003, a judge dismissed the lawsuit. During the same year, Robertson told Naperville police that a doctor touched her inappropriately at Edward Hospital. Police said she later recanted her story, and no criminal charges were filed.

Okay, reading through this story, I have to wonder...how do players etc keep falling for these charmers?...Not that players are not eqaully reckless...

Yeah, but you really don't won't an Urlacher type linebacker to think all that much...you jsut want him to seek and destroy. reminds me of Derrick Thomas, I think he fathered kids with seven different ladies. Millions of dollar contact and little common sense makes for strange bed fellows.

The women are so available to these athletes. I consider myself a responsible human being but if I were single, it would be tough to turn down these women. Now they must pay the price. All professional sports leagues should show Fatal Attraction to everyone.

My girlfriend is a single mom and to me I dont see the big deal. In fact seeing kids in public places screaming, whinning and getting away with stuff that 30 years ago they would get slapped for id say its best for Urlacher to let his woman have the brat. Not only that but I would recommend him and every other man who enjoys his sanity to get a vasectomy so they never have to put up with these overrated living cabbage-patch dolls. Most people have kids for the wrong reasons anyway. The most common reason is (no one will admit it) to please their parents and give them a grandson/daughter. Bad move. These aint goldfish folks. If you want to give your parents joy get em a live in maid. Since the govt. wants to control every facet of our lives anyway they should regulate the amount of kids a person can have. You need a license to fish but any numbskull can have one of these parasites. Mr. Urlacher im not a father but you shouldnt be either, date those empty headed blondes (buy an issue of American Curves and choose!) and enjoy your life and your fantastic football ability. Dont waste your time being a father, its for lesser men than you are.

Just in time for Father's Day ...sort of...dude, there is nothing greater than being a Father or Mother...glory on the grideiron is fleeting...fans come and go...Fatherhood is forever...get a grip my friend... Urlacher is at least trying to be reponsible for his actions...let him be.

Come down now Count Dooku...your goldfish/license bit wasn't bad...but its a bit over the top to glorfy the "Sack of a QB" over Fatherhood...and yep...Urlacher is not yet a "father"...but give credit where it is due...he is trying to be one...that's a lot more than a few other folks can say.

Here's a trial update: "the Naperville Sun reports Will County Judge Ludwig Kuhar ruled on Monday that Urlacher could not have extended vacation visitation this month... Urlacher wanted the boy to stay at his Lake Forest home until Bears training camp begins on July 26... The court ruled the baby is too young to spend that much time without his mother, Tyna Robertson, 34, who lives in Joliet. But Kuhar also ruled Urlacher could have overnight stays with his son beginning Monday."

Hmm, that's a damn fine question, Gotham. I'm sure his mind ISN'T on training camp right now, and at the very least, that'll have at least some minor adverse effects on his preparation for the season. I guess if he slumps a bit at the start of the season, we know why, eh?
