| Urlacher reports to mandatory OTAs ![]() LAKE FOREST, Ill. – It was probably only a coincidence that the sun chased away the rain and peeked through the clouds at just about the same time Brian Urlacher jogged onto the practice field. The star middle linebacker was back in his familiar spot Friday at Halas Hall, anchoring the Bears defense as the team kicked off its mandatory minicamp with an afternoon workout. Although there was some speculation that the six-time Pro Bowl middle linebacker would skip the minicamp while he continues to seek a contract extension, Urlacher opted to attend. “All that matters is I’m here with my teammates,” he told reporters, declining to elaborate. “That’s the only thing that matters right now. It’s a mandatory team drill. Everyone’s here that’s supposed to be here. When it says mandatory, you’re supposed to be at those things, so that’s why I’m here.” Urlacher back manning middle of Bears defense - Chicago Bears
