The Bears Select Chris Williams

With the 14th pick the Chicago Bears select Chris Williams OT out of Vandy. Good pick?

Re: The Bears Select Chris Williams

Definitely. They need help at the skill positions, but you definitely need to add talent up front.

Re: The Bears Select Chris Williams

I love this move, no matter who they put in the backfield would've been killed, behind their O-Line. Great Pick.

Angry Re: The Bears Select Chris Williams

You say good pick, i say they could of done alot better.
What a Waste of Draft Pick.
The Bears should of gotten RB Rashard Mendenhall or Felix Jones.
What is an Offensive Tackle going to do for the team without a Good QB and RB like Mendenhall or Felix Jones, i guess they weren't a far reach in the draft were they.
You Can have all the protection you want but without a good solid Drive from behind you are as useless as it can be.
Look at Barry Sanders and the O-Line he had or even Walter Payton.
Look At Vikings before Adrian Peterson, and after they have peterson.
Look at the cowboys aikman was a ok QB Emmitt Smith pretty good RB and A powerful O-Line that can open-up holes for the RB and protect the QB, that took them to a whole new level.
Have all the good protection for what, who are you going to protect, a QB that choke in the Superbowl with a few Picks and RB that is Injury prone now.
When the Regular seasons start and the Bears go up against the Vikings and losses, the bears scouting department should kick each others behind when the whole Offense can't put points on the Scoreboard.

Reverse that agruement, what is Felix Jones or Rashard Mendenhall going to for a team without an O-Line to block for them.

Re: The Bears Select Chris Williams

Look at Vikings O-Line in 2007 Rank#20 with 38 sacks allowed, the bears Rank at #24 with 43 sacks.
just a few sacks over the other, not a big margin.
but the Vikings have Adrian Peterson a strong runner with Chester Taylor as the other RB and a QB that can also Scramble.
Who does the Bears got?, Grossman a good QB?, NOT.
Benson a Strong runner maybe, not after a broken leg, the bears have to take into consideration that benson is injury prone now. time to look for his replacement. it should have been Mendendall or Felix Jones.
if Mendenhall shines bright for the steelers or Felix Jones for the Cowboys, then the whole Bears Organization is run by Dummies.

Re: The Bears Select Chris Williams

It doesn't matter who the QB and RB are, if they have no one to block from them, it's like having great starting pitching with no corners. Plus they got a good RB in round 2, Matt Forte looks to be a quality NFL back.
