| Bears lock-up McGowan for 1-Year ![]() LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Restricted free agent safety Brandon McGowan put his name on the dotted line Tuesday at Halas Hall, signing his one-year tender offer with the Bears. “It’s great for me to be in Chicago,” McGowan said after inking the deal. “I love being here. It’s a great city and a great team with great players and great coaches.” McGowan played in 14 games with nine starts last season, ranking sixth on the Bears and third among defensive backs with a career-high 80 tackles. He also had two interceptions, victimizing the Packers’ Brett Favre and the Vikings’ Tarvaris Jackson in road games against division rivals. The hard-hitting 5-11, 207-pounder from Maine steadily improved while starting the final five games last season at strong safety. McGowan signs one-year tender offer with Bears - Chicago Bears
