Bears Sign WR Brandon Lloyd

The Bears have signed wide receiver Brandon Lloyd a one year deal. Good move?

Hard to say. This kid's supposed to have a lot of potential, but he's never even had a 50 catch or 800 yard season.

Yeah you are right Lefty it is hard to tell right now, but one thing is for sure. With Loyd signing and Booker signing my friends here is your 2008/2009 Chicago Bears WR core. Bradley, Davis, Hester, Booker, and Loyd. maybe a late round WR in the draft but that's about it. This tells me the Bears will go OL or QB with their first pick in the draft. I look for them taking a RB in the 3rd round.

Acutally Davis a resistected free agent so they might not even have him. As far as the draft goes, I think they'll Linemen or RB in round 1, Saftey or QB in round 2, then which ever one those they didn't take in rounds 1 & 2 will be a Bear in round 3.

I think they will go OL/QB 1/2 which ever has the better value. I look for them to take a RB in the 3rd round. Maybe more in the 4th round. The draft is coming up. All in all the Bears have to have a good draft when it comes to picking the QB, they can't be wrong this time.

Re: Bears Sign WR Brandon Lloyd

Never herd of him before. 5years seems like a long time to get less than 2,000 yards.

If it was me drafting for the Bears it would be all O line, wide receivers, and yeah I forgot about a safety. I wouldn't get a running back, or quarter back till the 7th round. Next year running back would be the No. 1 pick, with the quarterback from free agency hopefully.

What round draft pick would they get for Davis if he signs elsewhere?

O line is always a smart way to build a team, so I'm with you there. Any preferences as to who? You need a tailback too, though, either through draft or free agency. I actually think at this point a veteran would be a better option, with next year's #1 being a tailback, as you suggest. Then again, this is a VERY deep draft at the position, so...

I have to honestly say I don't have a clue who I would draft. I've never followed College ball. I've tried to read about the draft here, to educate myself some, but the names just all blur together. I think that's why I don't follow college, the names don't change as much.

As far as free agency for a back, Yeah, I would of loved to get Michel Turner, but anyone worth getting is going to want to get paid.

If the O line is better then Benson will be better than he was last year. Not a Benson fan, but if he gets any help blocking he can be much better. Also hoping the Bears get lucky with a late round pick running back, that they can sign dirt cheap. I have no idea who.

Re: Bears Sign WR Brandon Lloyd

I'll tell you this right now no one is going to come after Davis but as far as RB goes. Maybe when Seattle cuts S. Alexander in June the Bears can pick him up if they don't draft a RB.

The O-line can be rebuilt through free agency....the Browns did a very good job of that and only used 1 draft pick on Thomas. If a RB is available, I would definitely take one this year. This is one of the best RB classes that I remember seeing. Over time it could be compared with the 1984? QB draft class as the best for one position.

I don't know. The guy hasn't done anything with two different teams.
