It's great to have him back, but I'm surprised they payed that much with so many other needs.

Well, ya didn't pay the receiver, and you did not go for a good QB...why not spend it on Briggs?

I'm not saying it's a bad move, but the Bears could've easliy spend that money on a RB like Michael Turner or a WR like Javon Walker.

Turner would be nice...but why would he want to play for the Bears offense?

It's only six million a year. I'm sure they'll also be able to pull off a few other signings. How much cap room do they have?

Going into free agency, 20 million. I don't know what the Briggs deal does to that.

Well, I'm not math major, but I would say that means you have at least $14 million more to work with, depending on how the contract's structured.

Re: Lance Briggs stays in Chicago

Ok the Bears signed Briggs. To be honest I could live with him or without him. This team need some offense in a bad way, but as I said who is going to want to come play for the Bears with Grossman and Orton, a suspect OL, questions at the WR spot, and no running game. They might get a guy like J. Walker and that is what I'm saying. He's a guy that has been hurt and has really only had two good seasons, someone is going to overpay for him. Those are the kind of players the Bears are going to pick up. While the Bears are at it see if Eddie Kennison is still available, and RB J. Jones is also still out there.

Re: Lance Briggs stays in Chicago

Finally some good news. I think 36 mil for 6 years is a bargain.
