Bears Cut Muhammad

The Bears started their offseason movement by doing some one-stop shopping today with Joel Segal.

Gone is wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad.

Muhammad was viewed as a potential offseason casuality and was owed a $500,000 roster bonus on March 4. The veteran turns 35 in May and the 12-year veteran had just 40 receptions for 570 yards and three touchdowns last season. Most viewed the $30 million, six-year deal he signed in 2004 as a three-year deal anyway, and he was to earn $1.6 million this coming season.

Good move by the Bears here imo. Now I hope that they go after and resign Berrian.

Well, this is one of those signings that looked to be a good idea at the time.

I still wonder what happened to this guy. Guess he just wasn't all that good without Steve Smith on the other side of the field.

I think it's a good move too, but resigning Berrien, so he can drop more balls, not so good.

Ya but Berrian get a whole lot more separation than Moose. Plus Berrian new contract will be worth less than a Moose's giant contract, so they can help other needs.
