PHOENIX -- Drew Rosenhaus sent a text message Tuesday to three of his Bears clients.
He's excited that free agency is just a month away, and the business ahead is the primary reason why linebacker Lance Briggs backed out of the Pro Bowl with what his agent called a lingering hip issue. Briggs was replaced by Dallas' Greg Ellis, the record 13th Cowboy to be named to the NFC team.
''It's really a precaution,'' Rosenhaus said. ''He kind of fought through it at the end of the season, and he's going to be fine. It's one thing to play in a regular-season game, but to play in a Pro Bowl at less than 100 percent, obviously not a good move. Medically, we consulted with [Bears trainer Tim Bream], and the Bears turned in [the report] for him. We actually made this decision right after the season.
