| Dvoracek on the Fast Tract to Recovery LAKE FOREST, Ill. – After missing his entire rookie year with a foot injury in 2006, Bears defensive tackle Dusty Dvoracek seemingly was primed to enjoy a breakout 2007 season. The 6-3, 303-pounder excelled during training camp and the preseason, maintaining his starting job next to former Oklahoma teammate Tommie Harris even after the Bears acquired veteran defensive tackle Darwin Walker in a trade. Dusty Dvoracek registered five tackles and one tackle-for-loss before sustaining a season-ending knee injury in a Week 1 loss in San Diego. Making his NFL debut in the season opener in San Diego, Dvoracek registered five tackles and one tackle-for-loss as the Bears held reigning NFL MVP LaDainian Tomlinson to just 25 yards on 17 carries, the All-Pro running back’s second lowest output in 96 career games. But late in the contest—three plays after safety Mike Brown was lost for the season with a torn ACL—Dvoracek suffered the same fate while blocking Quentin Jammer on a kickoff return. “I spun with him, and instead of my foot coming out of the ground and going with me, it stayed straight and my knee just snapped,” Dvoracek said. “I knew something [bad] happened. My leg went numb. I didn’t want to get carried off the field, so I just kind of hobbled off.” In an instant, Dvoracek’s promising season was suddenly over Bears defensive tackle in fast lane on road to recovery - Chicago Bears
