| Rex likes the no-huddle LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Quarterback Rex Grossman made it very clear Tuesday that he’s a big fan of the no-huddle offense the Bears introduced in Sunday’s 21-16 loss to the New York Giants. The fifth-year pro operated the attack with precision on the Bears’ first possession, capping a nine-play, 79-yard drive with a 1-yard TD pass to tight end Desmond Clark that resulted in a 7-0 lead. The Bears never even ran a third-down play on the drive as Grossman completed 5 of 5 passes for 65 yards. “I like it a lot just for the fact that you’re able to get to the line and kind of see what the defense is going to do,” Grossman said. “They pretty much have to show you what they’re doing and then you can even call the play off of that. It’s nice in that respect. “They can’t disguise as much. They can’t run around. You’re putting the defense on their heels rather than you constantly [being] on your heels adjusting to what they’re doing with their disguises and all those things. Plus you can call plays according to the coverage that they’re in at that moment and then go with it. There are a lot of advantages to it.” Grossman likened the no-huddle offense to a fast break in basketball. “As a quarterback, it’s fun,” he said. “And our running game works out of it real well, too. [The defense] is usually in a base vanilla look and if they are blitzing, you can pretty much see it coming. They blitzed a couple of times on our first drive and we hit a ‘hot’ to Dez and made a big play in it. No-huddle offense suits Grossman just fine

| Re: Rex likes the no-huddle Must be hard for a really, really bad offensive coordinator to find a job, cuz everyone knows how bad you are. I herd that as a result of the falling value of the dollar the Midwest manufacturing sector is seeing a resurgence. Think Ron knows how to read a schematic? |
