| Raiders to kick to Hester LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Devin Hester missed practice Wednesday because he was sick. But after hearing the news that Raiders coach Lane Kiffin relayed, the All-Pro return specialist likely will feel better in a hurry. Kiffin informed the Chicago media during a conference call that the Raiders (2-6) intend to kick the ball to Hester Sunday when the Bears (3-5) visit McAfee Coliseum in Oakland. “We’re excited about the challenge,” Kiffin said. “We’ve started to play better on special teams the last few weeks and this is probably the best returner ever to play the game. It’s not just him. Chicago plays great in all phases of their special teams and is extremely sound. “We’re prepared for a challenge. It’s no fun to kick it out of bounds, so we’re going to see how well we can cover.” In recent games, opponents have kept the ball away from Hester, who has returned three kickoffs, five punts and one missed field goal attempt for touchdowns in 24 career games. But that strategy has resulted in excellent field position for the Bears, who have started drives at their own 35 or beyond six of the last seven times an opponent has kicked off away from Hester.
