Whether it was his fractured right hand or simply performance, veteran safety Adam Archuleta -- who starred on Lovie Smith's defenses in St. Louis -- was benched at halftime of the Bears' loss to the Vikings on Sunday.
The move didn't do anything to shore up the defense on a record-setting day for Minnesota running back Adrian Peterson, who gained 224 yards on 20 carries in virtually wrapping up offensive rookie of the year honors in Week 6. Smith indicated Archuleta was having trouble with his hand, which is in a cast, but Archuleta said he's close to being 100 percent.

DB benching doesn't help

Some one on the radio was complaining about getting rid of Chris Harris. Archuleta is not playing good football, granted, but Harris was bad, really bad.

All the sports talk people in Chicago are complaining about that move too. But its not like Harris was a safety good either
