How to fix Cedric Benson I love the part where he writes "Set Benson down infront of a TV, put in the Pure Payton tape..."

| Re: How to fix Cedric Benson Look, man, I know you want Benson to be good. But the guy came into the NFL having carried the ball more than 1,000 times in college. His first two seasons were injury prone. He's beaten up. He lacks acceleration and toughness. Maybe has part of a tandem, he can enjoy some more success, but I doubt it - and he'll never truly be a starting quality professional running back.

Re: How to fix Cedric Benson I hate to jump on a band wagon since I got too many Benson football cards...but, he is slow to read and react, and he can find a lane to cut through to save his life. give me the A-Train over him.

Re: How to fix Cedric Benson I was happy with Benson last year, I think if he didn't go out, on the first, or so play, that the Super Bowl could of had a different outcome. I wasn't so happy that I thought it would be a good idea to get rid of Jones. I think Jones had better success, when Benson was in the game early, Benson was a meat tenderiser, and softened up the defense, then they both got good yards. Until last week, the Bears had absolutely no offense, they finally turned it back on, by deciding to run the ball. It's about time, but the offense was completely shut down, I think it's going to be like waiting for an old TV to warm up, now that they run the ball, the passing game should improve, and, when the passing game improves, the running game will improve. Don't know if Benson will ever be a premier running back, but he definitely can be part of a successful running Duo.

Re: How to fix Cedric Benson Yeah, not a bad comparison at all... both big College backs with over 6,000 yards rushing (I think Dayne had over 6,000 right?) and both getting very sluggish NFL starts after being drafted high.
